Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This is a contract position within the non-profit industry, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential financial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy in managing accounts payable and other accounting tasks.

Job Responsibility:

Process and track accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate completion
Work with purchase orders, including internal and external approvals
Maintain organized records by filing and retrieving receipts as needed
Assist in reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies promptly
Perform data entry tasks related to billing and invoice processing
Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial tracking and reporting
Support end-of-week file disposal and organization efforts
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all financial activities
Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks effectively
Provide general administrative support within the accounting department

Requirements:

Proven experience in accounts payable and invoice processing
Experience working with purchase orders
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Ability to reconcile accounts and address discrepancies effectively
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Familiarity with billing procedures and financial documentation
Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage priorities
