We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our team in Bakersfield, California. This position that requires a detail-oriented individual with strong multitasking abilities and excellent communication skills. The role involves working collaboratively with the Accounts Receivable team and Sales Representatives while maintaining a courteous and focused demeanor.
Job Responsibility:
Manage customer collections and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding balances
Process and record invoices, sales adjustments, and cash receipts with accuracy
Balance and post financial transactions to maintain up-to-date records
Identify and report discrepancies in a clear and organized manner
Provide administrative and operational support to the Accounts Receivable Department as needed
Collaborate with a team of A/R clerks and Sales Representatives to streamline workflows
Communicate effectively and respectfully, even in challenging situations, to resolve issues and maintain positive relationships
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all accounting activities
Assist in preparing reports and documentation for the General Accounting Department
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts receivable or a similar role
Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries professionally
Proficiency in managing financial transactions, including invoicing and cash receipts
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with various teams
Ability to professionally navigate challenging interactions with Sales Representatives
Familiarity with accounting software and tools is preferred
