We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join a non-profit organization in Wilton Manors, Florida on a contract-to-permanent basis. This position is well suited for someone starting their career in accounting or office support who is eager to learn in a structured, mission-driven environment. The role focuses on accounts payable support, administrative coordination, and accurate financial data handling while working closely with the finance team.
Job Responsibility:
Process incoming purchase order paperwork, invoices, and related documents with accuracy and timeliness
Compare invoices, receiving records, and purchase orders to confirm complete three-way matching before payment is prepared
Enter financial and vendor information into the organization’s accounting system and verify records for completeness
Assist with scheduled check preparation, mailing of payments, and handling voids or other check-related updates as needed
Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail, including invoices and payment correspondence
Maintain organized electronic and paper files for accounting records, vendor documents, and supporting paperwork
Communicate with vendors and internal staff to address payment questions, missing documentation, and statement discrepancies
Support reporting activities by reviewing transaction details and helping identify outstanding or aged items
Provide backup assistance to other finance support functions and complete additional administrative tasks assigned by leadership
Requirements:
High school diploma required
Prior experience in an office, clerical, data entry, receptionist, or back-office support role is helpful

Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage routine tasks accurately and stay organized
Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with vendors and internal teams
Ability to handle confidential information professionally and conduct oneself in a respectful manner within a faith-based organization
All candidates are required to undergo a Level 2 screening process
Ability to perform primarily sedentary work with occasional standing, bending, walking, and light lifting up to 15 pounds
