We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations for a brokerage organization in Oldsmar, Florida. This Contract position is ideal for someone who is highly accurate, organized, and comfortable handling large volumes of financial records and transaction-related documentation. The person in this role will help maintain efficient accounting workflows by processing invoices, entering numeric data, and assisting with refund-related activities.
Job Responsibility:
Enter and update accounting and transaction information in internal systems with a high level of speed and accuracy
Review, verify, and process invoices to support timely payment activity and proper recordkeeping
Assist with accounts payable tasks, including matching documentation and preparing items for payment processing
Handle refund-related work by reviewing requests, preparing supporting records, and coordinating refund check processing
Maintain organized financial files and ensure data is recorded correctly across spreadsheets and system platforms
Perform detailed numeric data entry while checking for discrepancies, missing information, or duplicate records
Support check handling activities, including tracking payment status and documenting completed transactions
Use business systems and tools, including HubSpot, to update records and help monitor workflow progress
Requirements:
Experience supporting accounting or financial operations in an administrative or clerical capacity
Working knowledge of accounts payable processes, invoice handling, and payment-related documentation
Strong data entry skills with the ability to manage high-volume numeric information accurately
Experience processing refunds, refund requests, or refund checks in a structured business environment
Proficiency with computer-based recordkeeping systems and general office software
Familiarity with check processing and financial data verification practices
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through when managing routine accounting tasks
