We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support daily financial operations for a hotel property in Captiva, Florida. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone who is comfortable working with cash controls, reconciliations, and routine accounting support in a fast-paced hospitality setting. The role focuses on maintaining accurate records, preparing deposits, and reviewing daily revenue activity to help ensure reliable financial reporting.
Job Responsibility:
Manage day-to-day cashiering activities, including distributing staff banks and organizing daily cash receipts for processing
Prepare and complete bank deposits each day while maintaining accurate documentation for all funds received
Reconcile cash on hand against system-generated totals and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Track and report cashier variances, including overages and shortages, with clear supporting records
Perform daily income journal work by reviewing revenue figures and confirming key operating statistics are accurately recorded
Enter financial data with precision and support routine accounting updates, journal-related tasks, and record maintenance
Use Excel to organize financial information, support reconciliations, and prepare recurring daily reports.
Requirements:
At least 1 year of experience in an accounting clerk, cashiering, or related finance support role
Working knowledge of cash handling procedures, daily deposit preparation, and balancing activities
Experience with data entry, invoice processing, and journal entry support
Ability to reconcile transactions accurately and identify inconsistencies in financial records
Proficiency in Excel for tracking, organizing, and reviewing accounting data
Strong attention to detail, dependability, and the ability to manage routine deadlines effectively.
