Our client has an immediate need for a Part-Time Accounting Clerk / Bookkeeper to support ongoing accounting, administrative, and light HR functions. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering a flexible, primarily remote schedule with consistent weekday hours (ideally Monday–Friday, mornings around 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM, ~20 hours per week). Candidates must be local to the Woodlands/Conroe area for a weekly in-office visit. Job Responsibility:
Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate account balances
Track incoming and outgoing expenses across multiple accounts
Manage weekly bill pay including ACH, wires, and check preparation
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions and reconcile discrepancies
Assist with month-end close including accruals and journal entries
Support general ledger maintenance and financial record accuracy
Monitor daily cash activity and assist with basic cash flow tracking
Upload payroll files into payroll system and assist with related inputs
Provide light administrative support including answering phones and maintaining documentation
Maintain employee records and assist with basic HR coordination and communication
Requirements:
2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
Strong understanding of debits, credits, and core accounting principles
Experience with AP, AR, reconciliations, and accruals
Prior experience working within an ERP system (required
SAP is a plus)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general business systems
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote setting
Must be local and able to go into the office once per week
Nice to have:
Bilingual in Spanish
Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
Prior experience in part-time or flexible accounting roles
