Job Description:

A growing manufacturing company in the Charlotte area is looking to add an Accounting Clerk / AP Specialist to their tight‑knit finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is motivated, eager to learn, and excited about building a long-term career in accounting.

Job Responsibility:

  • Review, process, and post invoices accurately
  • Match invoices to packing slips
  • Obtain approvals and enter raw material invoices
  • Park invoices pending approval
  • Print checks + process ACH payments
  • Upload payment files to the bank
  • Match checks to invoices & prepare remittances
  • Assist with cash forecasts
  • Prepare month-end accruals and recurring invoice schedules
  • Reconcile credit card and bank accounts
  • Complete general ledger and subledger reconciliations
  • Provide ad hoc financial research & analysis
  • Respond to vendor inquiries
  • Set up and update vendor records
  • Encourage vendors to transition to ACH
  • Review vendor statements for missing invoices
  • Maintain strong, timely vendor relationships
  • Review aging reports and perform weekly collections calls
  • Post and reconcile daily AR transactions
  • Follow up on past-due accounts
  • Prepare monthly AR and trade reports
  • Maintain accurate customer account records
  • Provide professional, timely customer communication
  • Maintain accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality in all financial processes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting systems & workflows
  • Handle other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of accounting experience or a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Motivated, curious, and quick to learn
  • Well-rounded accounting experience (AP & AR), or a recent accounting graduate with strong fundamentals
  • Comfortable pitching in where needed — including occasional phone coverage at the front desk
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems helpful
