The Accounting Associate supports day-to-day accounting operations with a strong emphasis on accuracy, organization, and confidentiality. This role is responsible for processing specialized reimbursements, posting and tracking transactions, maintaining financial records, and supporting cash management activities. The position requires regular handling of Protected Health Information (PHI), making attention to detail and compliance with privacy standards essential. The Accounting Associate will also serve as a backup for multiple accounting functions and collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial processing.
Job Responsibility:
Process specialized reimbursement activities, including letters, deposits, and ACH transactions
Post specialized reimbursement payments accurately and timely
Scan, organize, and file financial and reimbursement documentation
Prepare and distribute weekly check registers
Deposit corporate checks using a desktop check scanner and/or preparing deposit slips
Serve as backup support for multiple accounting and administrative functions as needed
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
bachelor’s degree preferred
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial recordkeeping
Understanding of reimbursement processes, payment posting, and cash handling procedures
Knowledge of data privacy requirements and the importance of maintaining confidentiality when handling Protected Health Information (PHI)
Familiarity with standard office procedures related to documentation, record retention, and financial reporting
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities accurately and efficiently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate Excel skills (e.g., data entry, spreadsheets, basic formulas)
Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external partners
Attention to detail and accuracy when processing financial transactions and documentation
