Job Description

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations for a contract position based in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role is ideal for someone who works well independently, brings strong attention to detail, and is comfortable handling accounting records in a fast-paced environment. The position will focus on document management, transaction support, and accurate financial recordkeeping using QuickBooks Online and related office tools.

Job Responsibility

  • Organize, scan, and upload historical paid invoices and deposit records into QuickBooks Online to maintain complete digital files
  • Review cash count documentation for accuracy and follow up on discrepancies to support reliable financial reporting
  • Assist with accounts payable activities, including coding invoices and preparing records for processing
  • Support accounts receivable tasks by helping maintain accurate customer payment documentation and transaction records
  • Perform bank reconciliation support work by comparing financial records and identifying variances for resolution
  • Maintain orderly electronic files using Google Drive and other G-Suite applications to improve document accessibility
  • Operate scanning equipment efficiently to convert paper records into properly labeled digital documents
  • Take on additional accounting and administrative assignments as needed to support the finance team

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in an accounting support or accounting assistant role
  • Hands-on experience using QuickBooks Online for transaction entry, record maintenance, or document management
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice coding, and bank reconciliations
  • Proficiency with G-Suite applications, including Google Drive, for organizing and maintaining business records
  • Ability to use document scanning equipment accurately and manage high-volume file processing
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and stay organized with minimal supervision
