Our client in Waterloo is seeking an organized and detail‑driven Accounting Assistant to support daily accounting operations and ensure smooth workflow across multiple departments. This is a contract role offering a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a dynamic and collaborative accounting environment.
Job Responsibility:
Monitor and manage accounting inbox workflow
route messages appropriately
Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, outstanding items, and general inquiries
Match invoices, receipts, and supporting documentation for accuracy
Update and maintain client information within internal systems
Assist with data entry and general data management duties
Support the accounting team with additional clerical or administrative tasks as needed
Requirements:
Previous accounting support, AP/AR, or administrative experience preferred
Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
Comfortable working with spreadsheets and accounting systems
Proactive, dependable, and eager to learn
