We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to provide dependable support for daily financial and administrative activities in Hudson, Wisconsin. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone who can step into a busy setting, stay organized, and contribute to accurate accounting operations from day one. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with internal teams while helping maintain payroll, billing, and related accounting processes with a high level of professionalism and care.
Job Responsibility
Assist with payroll-related tasks by updating records, reviewing information for accuracy, and helping keep processes current
Support customer invoicing activities, including preparing billing documentation and following through on related accounting steps
Provide day-to-day administrative assistance to the accounting team to help maintain smooth office and financial operations
Contribute to accounts payable work by coding invoices and ensuring documentation is processed accurately and on time
Help coordinate accounting tasks connected to payroll and HR system changes while following established procedures
Monitor multiple assignments at once and maintain careful attention to detail across routine and time-sensitive work
Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, vendors, and other external contacts regarding accounting matters
Participate in team discussions and ongoing coordination efforts to support priorities and resolve issues efficiently
Requirements
Previous experience in accounting support, payroll administration, billing, or a related finance function
Working knowledge of accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and document handling
Ability to learn unfamiliar systems and workflows quickly with minimal disruption to daily operations
Strong organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy when managing detailed financial information
Comfortable collaborating in a team-focused environment while handling individual responsibilities effectively
Clear written and verbal communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting while meeting deadlines consistently
