We are looking for an experienced Accounting Assistant to join our team in Santa Barbara, California. This contract position requires a detail-oriented individual to support financial operations and ensure accuracy in accounting processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles.
Job Responsibility:
Manage accounts payable processes, including reviewing and coding invoices for timely payments
Handle accounts receivable tasks, ensuring accurate tracking and collection of payments
Perform regular bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Utilize QuickBooks to record transactions, generate reports, and maintain organized financial records
Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Monitor and track expenses to support budgeting and forecasting initiatives
Address and resolve any accounting-related inquiries or issues promptly
Maintain confidentiality and security of financial information at all times
Requirements:
Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software
Strong ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations
Knowledge of invoice coding and general bookkeeping principles
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining financial accuracy
Effective communication skills to liaise with team members and external parties
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with accounting standards and regulations
