We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to support project accounting and office operations for a busy construction environment in Bellevue, Washington. This contract opportunity has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for someone who can balance financial administration, payroll support, and day-to-day coordination with accuracy and professionalism. The role offers a mix of accounting, onboarding, vendor communication, and administrative responsibilities that help keep project teams running efficiently.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate payroll inputs and timekeeping records for a large union workforce, ensuring pay is processed in alignment with prevailing wage standards and applicable labor agreements
Manage purchasing activities by creating orders, confirming receipts electronically, establishing vendor profiles, and serving as a point of contact for supplier-related questions
Review and process accounts payable transactions tied to project materials, services, and operating expenses with strong attention to coding and documentation
Maintain organized project records and file systems so contracts, financial documents, and operational paperwork remain accurate and accessible
Support employee onboarding by handling union dispatch coordination, completing new employee documentation, assisting with orientation, and preparing needed equipment or system access
Oversee project office support functions, including supply inventory, shared equipment coordination, breakroom upkeep, and logistics for meetings or team events
Assist with subcontractor administration by preparing billing support, compiling monthly pay application information, and tracking required reporting items
Contribute to receivable and reconciliation tasks as needed, including invoice review, payment tracking, and related accounting support activities
Requirements:
Experience in accounting support, office administration, or project coordination within a construction or similar operational setting
Working knowledge of accounts payable processes, invoice coding, payroll support, and bank reconciliation practices
Familiarity with certified payroll, prevailing wage regulations, and union labor requirements
Ability to manage multiple priorities accurately in a fast-paced project office environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain detailed records and support document control procedures
Experience with purchasing systems or contractor-focused platforms is helpful, and exposure to tools such as Coupa is a plus
