We are looking for a dedicated Accounting Assistant to join our team in Gonzales, California. Job Responsibility:
Process daily deposits with precision and ensure timely completion
Post and reconcile journal entries in compliance with established accounting standards
Develop and maintain detailed spreadsheets to track accounts receivable and general ledger activities
Assist with month-end and year-end closing tasks to ensure accurate financial reporting
Investigate and address discrepancies in accounts to maintain financial accuracy
Support administrative duties and general accounting responsibilities as needed
Collaborate with team members to enhance processes and maintain financial integrity
Provide assistance in handling accounts payable duties as required
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable and general accounting functions
Proficiency in using spreadsheets, particularly Microsoft Excel, and accounting software
Strong organizational skills and accuracy in data entry
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently
High attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
Familiarity with bank reconciliations, coding invoices, and journal entries
Nice to have:
Experience in a school district or public sector environment is preferred but not required
