We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations for a wholesale distribution organization in Golden Valley, Minnesota. This Contract position focuses on maintaining accurate records, assisting with payables and receivables, and helping keep accounting processes organized and timely. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with transaction details, reconciling accounts, and using QuickBooks to support a high-volume accounting environment.
Job Responsibility
Process vendor invoices with accuracy, assign appropriate coding, and prepare items for timely payment
Record incoming customer payments, monitor outstanding balances, and help maintain current receivable records
Perform bank and account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and support accurate financial reporting
Maintain accounting data in QuickBooks and update records to reflect daily transaction activity
Review financial documents for completeness, resolve routine issues, and follow up on missing or unclear information
Assist with general accounting support tasks to keep workflows efficient and documentation well organized
Requirements
Experience supporting accounting operations in an accounts payable and accounts receivable capacity
Working knowledge of bank reconciliations and the ability to investigate variances
Hands-on experience using QuickBooks for transaction entry and account maintenance
Ability to code invoices accurately and manage detailed financial information
Strong attention to detail with dependable organizational and time management skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal and external contacts
