We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant I to join our team in Land O’ Lakes, Florida. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of cash-related accounting processes for multiple healthcare facilities. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members to support departmental goals and compliance.
Job Responsibility:
Process and reconcile daily cash transactions, including deposit logs and intercompany transfers
Assist with preparing and reviewing variance reports related to daily banking activities
Support month-end processes by collaborating with the Accounting Assistant II and completing assigned tasks
Monitor and respond to treasury requests, ensuring timely adjustments for mass uploads
Prepare productivity and department performance reports to track activities and outcomes
Ensure compliance with internal controls, auditing standards, and confidentiality requirements
Provide training and guidance to team members on cash department functions and procedures
Organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines while addressing escalations promptly
Complete mandatory training and contribute to special projects as assigned
Report concerns, complaints, or discrepancies to management in a timely manner
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Healthcare, or a related field is required
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Experience with cash applications, reconciliations, and daily cash receipts
Strong organizational and time management skills for handling multiple tasks efficiently
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to compliance standards
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate within a team
Analytical skills to identify discrepancies and resolve issues effectively
Nice to have:
Knowledge of healthcare accounting processes is highly desirable
