Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Financial Controller to lead critical financial processes with a strong focus on year-end close, complex accounting topics, and CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) reporting. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical accounting background, hands-on experience in the retail sector, and a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a Big Four firm. This role requires an English-speaking professional who can operate confidently in an international environment and translate complex data into clear financial insights.

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinate the year-end and period-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Coordinate corporate income tax returns with support from external Tax Advisors
  • Support the business with accounting topics and writing position papers
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing audits efficiently and resolving findings
  • Coordinate CSRD reporting, including alignment with ESRS requirements
  • Collaborate with finance, sustainability, legal, and operational teams to collect, validate, and consolidate ESG data
  • Strengthen documentation, governance, and internal controls across financial and CSRD-related processes
  • Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting quality, and efficiency

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or RA is strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within a Big Four firm, ideally combined with in-house controlling experience
  • Proven experience in the retail industry
  • Strong background in financial reporting, statutory accounts, and audits
  • Demonstrated experience with CSRD / ESG / sustainability reporting or a strong motivation to specialize in this area
  • Hands-on and able to work both independently and with respect to deadlines
  • You’re motivated, eager to learn and have good communication skills
  • You’re fluent in English – written and verbal
