Job Description:

We are a growing nonprofit organization dedicated to making a meaningful impact in our community. As we expand our reach and operations, we are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Accounting and Finance Leader to join our dynamic team. This new role will help strengthen our financial foundation, support our organizational growth, and ensure that our resources are managed with transparency and integrity. The Accounting and Finance Leader will work in close partnership with Leadership Team to provide oversight and direction for the organization’s finance function. This role will be instrumental in developing and implementing financial policies, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting audits, and providing insightful reporting to guide strategic decision-making.

Job Responsibility:

  • Recommend, oversee, and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Work closely with Development staff to ensure accurate and timely recording of gifts and donor compliance
  • Evaluate and update accounting, financial reporting, and internal control policies
  • Oversee all business functions including tuition billing, accounts payable, payroll, accounting, financial reporting, and compliance
  • Deliver timely financial reports to the Leadership Team and Board
  • Ensure all tax returns are prepared and submitted on time
  • Provide strategic support—financial analysis, projections, recommendations, and data
  • Collaborate with the CFOO, Executive Director, and Board of Trustees
  • Oversee payroll processing and reporting
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Excel, G-Suite, and computerized accounting systems
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Commitment to the values and mission of nonprofit service

Nice to have:

  • Advanced degree or CPA
  • preference for candidates with nonprofit experience
