Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Analyst to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. This role involves overseeing accounting processes, financial reporting, and analysis to support informed decision-making within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger accounting, financial forecasting, and variance analysis, with a focus on improving efficiency and accuracy in reporting.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage accounting processes for assigned legal entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards
  • Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger transactions to maintain accurate financial records
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend evaluation, and revenue assessments
  • Develop and deliver timely and accurate reports on business performance, comparing historical, budgeted, and forecasted results
  • Collaborate with management to provide insights that support strategic decision-making
  • Evaluate existing accounting procedures and identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities to guide financial planning
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies in all accounting practices
  • Monitor financial data for discrepancies and implement corrective measures as needed
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and related documentation

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in corporate accounting or a related field
  • Proficiency in general ledger systems and journal entry preparation
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis principles
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and identify trends, variances, and key insights
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools
  • Effective communication skills for presenting findings to management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
