We are looking for an Accounting Analyst to join a manufacturing organization in New Brighton, Minnesota in a contract capacity with the potential for a permanent position. This position supports core accounting operations through careful analysis, timely reporting, and accurate financial recordkeeping that helps leaders make informed business decisions. Job Responsibility
Reconcile balance sheet and profit-and-loss accounts, research variances, and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.
Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities by preparing journal entries, recording accruals, and analyzing financial fluctuations.
Create recurring and ad hoc financial reports that provide management with clear insight into operating results and business performance.
Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing activities to help ensure timely and accurate transaction processing.
Maintain thorough accounting documentation that aligns with internal policies, audit expectations, and control requirements.
Assist with insurance-related administration, including renewal coordination, claims documentation, and communication with relevant internal and external parties.
Prepare schedules and gather supporting records for internal and external audits while responding promptly to information requests.
Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting workflows, improve controls, and increase efficiency through process enhancements and automation initiatives.
Provide accounting support for foreign branch administration and participate in finance-related projects, including system upgrades and broader transformation efforts.
Safeguard sensitive financial information while partnering effectively with cross-functional teams and completing additional assignments as needed.
Requirements
Experience in accounting or finance roles with hands-on responsibility for reconciliations, reporting, and transactional accounting activities.
Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing processes within a business environment.
Ability to analyze balance sheets, income statements, and profit-and-loss activity with strong attention to detail.
Familiarity with month-end close tasks such as journal entries, accruals, and variance review.
Understanding of accounting controls, audit support practices, and documentation standards.
Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Ability to handle confidential financial data responsibly and follow established accounting policies and compliance requirements.
