Located in Chesterfield, MO- position focuses on investment accounting and statutory reporting within the financial services industry. As a Contract to permanent opportunity, this role emphasizes accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and process improvement while collaborating across departments.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct detailed reconciliations between the general ledger and supplemental investment systems, ensuring discrepancies are thoroughly investigated and resolved
Analyze and summarize data from various reporting sources to support both internal leadership and external stakeholders
Prepare statutory investment schedules and maintain financial statement disclosures in alignment with regulatory requirements
Track changes in investment portfolios, identify trends, and present findings using visual tools such as charts or dashboards
Document and uphold financial control practices, contributing to the development and enhancement of procedural standards
Assist in automation initiatives and address identified gaps in financial controls to improve efficiency
Provide audit support by supplying necessary documentation and analysis, while addressing audit findings related to investment risks
Collaborate with teams across finance, risk, and operations to deliver insights and expertise on investment accounting
Participate in cross-functional projects requiring specialized financial analysis and reporting knowledge
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or financial reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel
Familiarity with investment accounting principles and statutory financial reporting frameworks
Strong analytical skills paired with exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information clearly
Capability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative team environment
Nice to have:
Preferred qualifications include advanced certifications, experience in financial services or insurance, and familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau
