Job Description:

We are looking for an Accounting Analyst to join our team on a contract basis in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the accurate calculation, processing, and reporting of commission payments while supporting various teams including sales, finance, and HR. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of compensation plans.

Job Responsibility:

  • Accurately calculate, audit, and process commission payments in alignment with company policies and sales compensation structures
  • Interpret and implement diverse commission plans, including bonuses, incentives, and special performance incentive funds (SPIFs)
  • Collaborate with sales, finance, and HR teams to clarify commission policies and resolve any discrepancies
  • Generate detailed reports analyzing commission data for management review
  • Support month-end and quarter-end financial close activities related to commission payouts
  • Maintain organized and precise records of commission plans, payments, and adjustments
  • Assist with testing and implementing commission systems or process enhancements
  • Address internal inquiries regarding commission calculations, statements, and policies with professionalism
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and audit standards pertaining to commission structures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commissions analysis, financial analysis, payroll, or a related role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Solid understanding of commission and compensation structures

Nice to have:

  • Experience with commission management systems
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, including Salesforce Sales Cloud and Salesforce Platform
