Job Description:

This is a backfill position with a strong focus on sales/use tax and customer exemption certificates. The role involves early-stage customer interactions, tax documentation validation, and dispute management.

Job Responsibility:

Engage with customers at the start of the onboarding process
Determine tax-exempt status and collect necessary documentation
Handle and resolve customer disputes
Apply knowledge of state tax regulations
Utilize SAP for accounting functions
Manage all accounting operations following established principles
Prepare budgets and financial forecasts
Publish timely financial statements
Execute month-end and year-end close processes
Collect, analyze, and summarize account information
Calculate taxes and prepare tax returns, balance sheets, P&L statements, etc.
Generate periodic reports for management review
Audit financial transactions and ensure control procedures are documented
Maintain confidentiality and ensure secure data backup practices
Stay updated on financial regulations and accounting legislation

Requirements:

4–5 years of experience in accounting or related field
Proven experience in cost accounting
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and corporate finance
Proficient in accounting software
SAP preferred
High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
Advanced degree in Accounting preferred
CPA or CMA certification preferred
Knowledge of sales/use tax
Handling of exemption certificates
Excel proficiency and strong communication skills
