Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in The Woodlands, Texas. In this role, you will contribute to financial reconciliation and reporting for a key entity, ensuring accuracy and clarity in financial records. Fluency in Spanish is required to assist with translations and address discrepancies effectively.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure financial statements align
  • Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable for each reporting period
  • Convert and roll forward balance sheets and income statements from Pesos to U.S. dollars
  • Facilitate communication by translating between the accountant and Plant Manager to resolve discrepancies
  • Analyze aged or overdue accounts and propose corrective actions
  • Provide insights and recommend best practices for posting currency exchange and roll-forward adjustments
  • Support the preparation and posting of journal entries for accurate financial documentation
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of accounting principles to streamline reporting processes

Requirements

  • Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions
  • Strong experience with bank reconciliations and journal entries
  • Fluency in Spanish to support translation and communication needs
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
  • Familiarity with trial balance and profit and loss statements
  • Ability to identify and address aged or delinquent accounts
  • Expertise in accounting methods related to currency conversion and adjustments
