We are looking for an Accountant to support core accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Palo Alto, California. This position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day transaction processing, and helping ensure timely month-end activities. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience across payables, receivables, reconciliations, and ledger maintenance in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility:
Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and coordinate timely payments to maintain strong accounts payable operations
Record financial activity through accurate journal entries and keep accounting records aligned with established reporting standards
Oversee accounts receivable tasks, including invoice tracking, payment application, and follow-up on outstanding balances
Perform bank and account reconciliations to identify discrepancies, resolve variances, and preserve data accuracy
Maintain the general ledger by reviewing transactions, updating account details, and supporting periodic close activities
Assist with bookkeeping functions across multiple accounting areas while ensuring completeness and consistency of financial information
Prepare financial records and supporting schedules for internal review and routine accounting analysis
Requirements:
Experience handling accounts payable processes in a detail-oriented accounting environment
Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial record maintenance
Proven ability to prepare and post journal entries with strong attention to detail
Experience completing bank reconciliations and resolving account discrepancies
Background in accounts receivable, including payment posting and balance follow-up
Full-charge bookkeeping experience with the ability to manage a broad range of accounting tasks
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines in a high-volume setting
