Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Accountant to join our growing manufacturing organization. The successful candidate will have several years of experience in general accounting within Canada and will either hold a CPA designation or be actively pursuing it. In this role, the Accountant will play a key part in supporting the Finance team by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing detailed reports, and ensuring full compliance with Canadian accounting standards and internal control requirements relevant to a manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes in accordance with established timelines
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports to support business decision-making
  • Monitor and reconcile inventory accounts and cost of goods sold (COGS) to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with standard costing, variance analysis, and other production-related accounting activities
  • Collaborate with operations and production teams to ensure accurate costing and reporting of materials, labour, and overhead
  • Contribute to the budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes
  • Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of financial operations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA designation (or actively pursuing CPA designation) is required
  • 2–5 years of experience in general accounting or financial reporting, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Solid understanding of Canadian GAAP (ASPE or IFRS)
  • Strong knowledge of costing methods related to finished goods and inventory
  • Hands-on experience with inventory accounting, costing, and variance analysis
  • Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines
