Accountant

• Process accounts payable transactions, including coding and maintaining vendor records
• Execute weekly payroll operations with precision and timeliness
• Perform daily accounting activities to maintain department efficiency
• Prepare and reconcile bank accounts, general ledger entries, and account schedules
• Assist in month-end closing procedures, ensuring timely completion of tasks
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in reconciliations proactively
• Generate and review reports using Sage 300 to support financial close processes
• Facilitate year-end reporting, including 1099 preparation and vendor verification
• Provide necessary documentation and schedules for audits and year-end reviews
• Utilize Excel for advanced reporting and reconciliation tasks, employing pivot tables and v-lookups

• Proven experience in bank, general ledger, and payroll reconciliations
• Hands-on expertise in accounts payable and weekly payroll processing
• Proficiency in Sage 300 software is required or strongly preferred
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative in handling tasks
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Detail-oriented mindset with a track record of thorough follow-through

Familiarity with construction accounting practices, including job costing and retainage, is highly desirable
