Join one of Germany's leading digital marketplaces! As an Accountant (d/f/m), you will be key in shaping Financial Excellence at mobile.de, balancing statutory German requirements with the agility of a global tech company. You'll be at the heart of our dynamic Financial Accounting & Controlling team (13 people including this role) in Berlin-Charlottenburg and report to the local Head of Accounting/Controlling.

Job Responsibility:

  • Preparation of month-, quarter- and year end closes in line with IFRS and local German GAAP requirements
  • Preparation of financial statement according to local German GAAP (HGB)
  • Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Reconciliation of VAT return and supporting the preparation of Tax returns
  • Support external financial and tax audits and communications with German authorities and auditors
  • Act as a trusted finance expert and partner for our local mobile.de teams (Business, FP&A, Legal, HR) on accounting and billing matters
  • Collaborate closely with different central finance teams in Amsterdam/Barcelona
  • Drive the continuous improvement and digitalization of our local accounting processes
  • Supporting the implementation of new systems and controls in a rapidly evolving tech environment

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of HGB / German GAAP is essential
  • Strong IFRS knowledge
  • Minimum of 5+ years professional experience in roles with a strong focus on Accounting
  • Experience ideally gained within a fast-paced, data-driven environment (e.g. e-commerce or digital tech, or top consulting firms)
  • A college degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or MBA) in Accounting and Controlling or a recognized advanced vocational qualification (e.g., Certified Accountant IHK), or a successfully completed relevant vocational training program (e.g., tax clerk, industrial clerk) combined with relevant professional experience
  • Proven operational finance capability
  • Strong close & compliance experience
  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex problems in a clear concise way for the business
  • Ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Experience with modern ERP systems (e.g., SAP, OneStream, Navision) and finance tech stacks (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Business fluent in German (must-have)
  • Strong English skills in writing and speaking
