We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our client's team in Roanoke, Virginia. This role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills to handle general ledger activities, financial reconciliations, and reporting tasks. The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background and a desire to contribute to a dynamic work environment.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy for fuel, maintenance, and equipment leases
Prepare and record journal entries related to operational expenses and revenue
Assist in the completion of month-end and year-end financial close processes
Perform bank reconciliations and verify intercompany transactions
Support external audit procedures and ensure compliance with industry regulations
Analyze financial data and create comprehensive reports for management review
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper cost allocations and reporting
Monitor and manage prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets
Handle select accounts payable tasks, maintaining accuracy and timeliness
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
At least 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting
Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Sage, or similar systems
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
