Accountant

• Maintain the general ledger and oversee the month-end closing process to ensure all financial statements are prepared accurately and on time
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments to vendors and collections from customers
• Process bi-weekly payroll for plant and administrative staff while maintaining compliance with provincial regulations
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and monitor daily cash flow
• Analyze manufacturing variances and investigate discrepancies between actual and standard production costs
• Monitor inventory levels and conduct periodic cycle counts to ensure physical stock aligns with the ERP system
• Update standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead on a regular basis
• Prepare and submit monthly HST filings and other required government remittances
• Coordinate with external auditors to provide necessary documentation for year-end reviews and audits
• Assist in developing annual operating budgets and rolling quarterly forecasts
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting workflows and strengthen internal controls

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience across all aspects of the function
• A bachelor’s degree in either business administration or accounting
• Experience working within a Manufacturing environment is required
• Experience working with processing payroll for Ontario employees is a strong asset
• Comfortable working in a casual, manual processing environment
• Must be able to work autonomously with little direction
