We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a contract position with an anticipated duration of 12 weeks, offering flexibility in working hours, including shorter Fridays or adjusted schedules during the week. The role requires someone who is detail oriented, with expertise in accounts payable and the ability to contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate coding and timely routing of invoices, including indirect costs and utilities
Collaborate with team members to establish efficient procedures for handling construction-related expenses through purchase orders and coding systems
Assist in setting up automated processes for utility coding and routing to streamline operations
Handle general ledger activities, including journal entries and reconciliations, to maintain financial accuracy
Perform accounts receivable tasks, ensuring proper tracking and reporting
Conduct bank reconciliations to verify financial transactions and maintain records
Communicate openly with colleagues, asking questions and collaborating to resolve issues effectively
Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations while maintaining meticulous attention to detail
Contribute to building a positive and collaborative work environment through a proactive and supportive attitude
Requirements:
Proven experience in accounts payable, general ledger, and accounts receivable processes
Proficiency in handling journal entries and performing bank reconciliations
Familiarity with construction accounting software, such as NewStar, or similar systems
Ability to develop and implement efficient processes for coding and routing invoices
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving
Positive attitude and adaptability to changing priorities
Availability to work onsite in Atlanta, Georgia during standard business hours
