Accountant

• Assist with accounting for the divisions, which may include financial statement preparations and financial statement analysis, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and other analysis as needed
• Oversee inventory cost accounting (logs & lumber) at all stages of production from purchasing raw materials to shipments of finished product, including monthly and year-end inventory counts
• Manage fixed asset accounting and reconcile fixed asset accounts
• Monthly and year-end close for the division, including preparation of all audit and tax schedules
• Participate in the hiring, training, mentoring, and managing office staff
• Ensure that appropriate internal control measures are followed
• Provide financial analysis as needed for special projects
• Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
• Recognize when and how to be assertive when improvement opportunities arise
• Work as part of a team with company accounting staff and management
• Use appropriate discretion with confidential Company information

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Preference given for work experience in accounting
• Working experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on inventory/cost accounting a plus
• Experience with general ledger functions
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with significant experience creating/using Excel
• Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve problems
• Professional demeanor, with ability to work in a team environment
