We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing the monthly financial close process and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. You will contribute significantly to the preparation of financial statements and regulatory reporting, while maintaining compliance with industry standards.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations
Perform daily accounting tasks to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records
Manage general ledger operations, ensuring all entries are properly recorded and balanced
Conduct thorough account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data
Complete bank reconciliations to ensure proper alignment between internal records and banking transactions
Assist in the preparation of financial statements for monthly reporting and regulatory compliance
Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information for reporting
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and resolving any discrepancies
Continuously review and improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations in all financial activities
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
Proficiency in managing month-end and year-end close processes
Strong knowledge of general ledger operations and journal entry preparation
Experience performing account and bank reconciliations
Familiarity with financial statement preparation and regulatory reporting
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Strong analytical skills for identifying and resolving discrepancies
