We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to support core financial operations for a Contract position based in Boise, Idaho. This role is suited for someone who can manage day-to-day accounting tasks, maintain accurate records, and contribute to timely close activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of general accounting practices and a hands-on approach to reconciliations, reporting, and transaction review.
Job Responsibility:
Manage routine financial accounting work, including cost and general ledger activities, in alignment with accepted accounting standards and established company practices
record, monitor, and adjust journal entries related to accruals, operating spend, and account reclassifications to keep financial data accurate each month
oversee fixed asset and inventory records, ensuring balances are updated properly and supporting documentation is maintained
complete monthly bank reconciliations, investigate variances, and prepare correcting entries when discrepancies are identified
generate customer invoices on a regular schedule, track outstanding receivables, and provide support with follow-up on collection matters as needed
support month-end and quarter-end close processes by preparing schedules, reconciling accounts, and supplying requested documentation
participate in year-end inventory count activities and assist in validating physical inventory results against financial records
provide backup assistance for accounts payable tasks and contribute to special projects, process improvements, and financial analysis requested by leadership
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is a must
experience working in an accounting role with exposure to general ledger processes and month-end close activities
practical knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entry preparation, and bank reconciliation procedures
understanding of standard accounting principles and the ability to apply internal policies and financial controls consistently
strong analytical skills with the ability to research transactions, identify inconsistencies, and resolve account issues accurately
proficiency in maintaining organized financial records and handling multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with accounting team members and business partners on routine and special assignments
