We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. This is a contract to permanent opportunity with a hybrid work schedule, offering flexibility between onsite and remote work. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial operations and ensuring accurate reporting for a portion of the company's revenue.
Job Responsibility:
Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities
Prepare and post journal entries accurately to maintain up-to-date financial records
Conduct month-end closing procedures and reconcile bank accounts to ensure financial accuracy
Collaborate with various teams to communicate financial results and address inquiries
Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures while adhering to accounting standards
Support the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review
Utilize accounting software and tools, such as Sage Intacct, to streamline processes and improve efficiency
Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation to ensure compliance with regulations
Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and discrepancies
Work closely with the team to ensure timely completion of accounting tasks and projects
Requirements:
Nonprofit accounting experience
Proven experience in accounting roles, with knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions
Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting bank reconciliations
Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reporting
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
Experience working with accounting software, such as Sage Intacct, is preferred
Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities effectively
Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities to identify and resolve discrepancies
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is highly desirable
