We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Newark, California. In this role, you will be responsible for performing essential accounting tasks, including managing general ledger activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Job Responsibility:
Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Maintain and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts to support financial integrity
Prepare and review various reconciliations, cost reports, billings, and bank reconciliations
Compile federal, state, and regulatory reports, adhering to established guidelines and compliance requirements
Create and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and approval processes
Update and manage various ledgers, journals, registers, and financial records
Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improving processes and accuracy
Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistency in financial reporting and data sharing
Support ad hoc financial tasks and reporting as required
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable accounting standards
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution
Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and develop solutions
Proficiency in explaining complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for summarizing data and presenting findings
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing priorities
Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships and collaborate with team members
Familiarity with accounting software and systems relevant to the role
Knowledge of GAAP and local, state, and federal regulatory requirements related to accounting practices
