Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii, on a Contract to permanent position. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations and ensuring accuracy in reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Accurately record daily financial transactions, including assets, liabilities, profits, losses, and tax obligations
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger on a regular basis to ensure data accuracy
  • Review financial data and assist in preparing periodic financial statements and management reports
  • Conduct analyses of financial information to support budgeting, auditing, and compliance initiatives
  • Interpret complex financial data and deliver insights to leadership when required
  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure proper handling of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Manage journal entries and property accounting tasks with precision
  • Collaborate with team members to complete financial projects and meet organizational objectives
  • Utilize accounting software and tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency
  • Provide additional support on financial tasks and projects as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required
  • a Master’s degree is preferred
  • Minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience
  • Proficiency in accounts payable, general ledger, accounts receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with property accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills to manage financial data effectively
  • Strong communication abilities for interacting with team members and stakeholders

Nice to have

Experience working in a shared services or centralized accounting environment is a plus
