Midwest Communications, Inc is seeking a full-time ACCOUNTANT to join our team in Wausau, WI. Our centralized accounting department, which serves multiple locations throughout the Midwest, is looking for an individual that is professional, self-motivated, team-orientated, and organized with the ability and desire to get the job done.
Job Responsibility:
Support monthly close process including reconciling of accounts to general ledger
Manipulate large amounts of data in excel to produce effective summaries and journal entries
Maintain vendor information and prepare information returns for review
Maintain contesting records and ensure compliance with reporting requirements and disclosure regulations
Assist with fixed asset record maintenance
Prepare other governmental reports including personal property tax returns and sales and use tax returns for review
Assist in the company’s financial audits
Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, vendors and others in a professional and courteous manner
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
Requirements:
Have a degree in accounting or a minimum of five years of experience in an accounting or finance related role
Have a high level of organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities
Be able to meet critical deadlines
Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
