We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to manage essential financial operations and ensure the accuracy of company records. Based in Three Rivers, Michigan, this role is critical to maintaining compliance and driving efficiency in accounting processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls, along with a collaborative approach to team support.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger management
Ensure data accuracy within Sage 100, troubleshoot discrepancies, and collaborate on improving reporting automation
Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes, aligning with organizational standards
Perform thorough account reconciliations and verify proper transaction recording
Partner with the Controller to assist in developing annual budgets and conducting monthly variance analyses to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities
Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and uphold financial integrity
Support external auditors during year-end audits, preparing required schedules and documentation
Provide mentorship and day-to-day assistance to entry level accounting team members to enhance their skills and productivity.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a strong background in month-end close and financial reporting
Proficiency in managing general ledger activities and preparing journal entries
Demonstrated expertise in account and bank reconciliations
Solid understanding of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes
Familiarity with financial software, particularly Sage 100, is highly preferred
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify financial trends and suggest improvements
Excellent organizational and communication abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
