Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
5+ years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in a non-profit or small business
Strong knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting (for non-profits), and financial compliance
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Desktop required
Experience in budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting
Familiarity with payroll processing, including union payroll
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy

Job Responsibility

Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow to support strategic decision-making
Ensure accurate tracking of grants, donations, and restricted funds (for non-profits)
Generate custom financial reports in QuickBooks for management and board meetings
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial policies
Prepare and oversee audit processes (internal and external audits)
Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard financial assets
Oversee tax filings (990s for non-profits, payroll taxes, sales tax, and business filings)
Maintain and optimize QuickBooks Online/Desktop for accurate and efficient financial reporting
