Job Description

This is a senior and highly visible role where you will oversee the full spectrum of financial closing, consolidation, and statutory reporting. You will act as the technical accounting expert for the business, advising on complex transactions, ensuring strict adherence to Bursa Malaysia and Securities Commission (SC) regulations, and maintaining robust internal controls.

Job Responsibility

  • Monitor and ensure accurate, timely execution of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closings
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements for quarterly Bursa Malaysia announcements
  • Prepare yearly financial statements in full compliance with laws and regulations for audit purposes, and meticulously review the Annual Report to ensure it is error-free
  • Act as the subject matter expert on IFRS/MFRS
  • Implement new accounting requirements and advise the business on complex accounting entries
  • Support the Sales division by advising on accurate revenue and cost recognition
  • Capable of making independent, sound decisions regarding accounting policies and practices
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, dealing with them effectively and independently
  • Manage corporate tax, SST, and Withholding Tax (WHT)
  • Prepare initial tax computations for tax agent review and demonstrate an understanding of regional business tax requirements
  • Ensure the timely submission of all required reports to Bursa Malaysia, the Securities Commission (SC), and MDEC
  • Review reconciliations and ensure necessary adjustments/actions are taken promptly
  • Ensure all internal controls remain effective and robust
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports in various formats as required by Management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accountancy
  • Minimum 6 years of working experience in finance and accounting
  • Deep understanding of IFRS/MFRS, international auditing standards, and financial interest rate calculations
  • Broad and proven knowledge of the Companies Act, as well as Bursa Malaysia and Securities Commission (SC) reporting requirements
  • A highly capable and independent professional who can navigate complex accounting issues, manage external stakeholders confidently, and uphold the highest standards of financial integrity

Nice to have

Candidates at the Senior Executive or Managerial level specializing in General/Cost Accounting are preferred
