Job Description:

The Accountant Intermediate will step into a challenging and evolving environment, perfect for a professional looking to deepen their understanding of large-scale telecommunications operations and processes. Working under the guidance of the Senior Manager, you will play a key role in financial accuracy, compliance, and systems testing. This role is highly focused on lease accounting (IFRS 16) and fixed asset management within the SAP ecosystem.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in the month-end financial close and reporting cycles, ensuring all deadlines are met with accuracy
  • Review and value leases in accordance with IFRS 16 guidelines using the SAP REFX module
  • Perform Fixed Asset accounting tasks utilizing the SAP AA subledger
  • Record and reconcile financial transactions
  • investigate and resolve GL account open items
  • Document evidence for SOX controls and provide support for both internal and external audits
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for SAP enhancements and project-related systems changes
  • Assist with data preparation, clean-up, and ad-hoc reporting as required by the project team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (BBA or B.Com) or Finance is required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP is mandatory
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS 16 lease accounting standards
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience in project-based environments
  • Experience with data migration, clean-up, or UAT
