Job Description

Accountant III monitors and manages complex financial activities within an organizational unit, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity of financial records and reporting. This role performs advanced accounting functions including oversight of revenue and expenditure processing, reconciliation of key accounts, and maintenance of financial systems and databases. The Accountant III prepares detailed financial statements, projections, and analytical reports to support management decisions and funding requirements, while identifying trends and recommending strategies for asset utilization and cost control. In addition, this position ensures compliance with university policies and local, state, and federal regulations, supports internal controls within the financial system, and may supervise accounting staff including training, workflow management, and performance oversight.

  • Proven experience in advanced accounting work with responsibility for complex financial records and reporting

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, research discrepancies, and present clear financial findings
