Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Accountant/Controller to manage and oversee the financial operations of our organization in Indianapolis, Indiana. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in accounting practices, financial analysis, and compliance to ensure the company's financial health and strategic growth. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide critical insights to senior leadership.

Job Responsibility

  • Maintain and update financial records in both digital and physical formats to ensure accuracy and accessibility
  • Conduct thorough analysis of financial transactions and prepare detailed reports for review
  • Perform regular audits to verify the accuracy and compliance of financial documents, expenditures, and investments
  • Develop revenue forecasts and analyze profit margins to support business decision-making
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, as well as oversee general ledger reconciliation processes
  • Provide regular financial updates and briefings to senior management on the organization’s financial status
  • Collaborate with tax professionals to monitor tax payments and ensure timely and accurate tax filings
  • Perform all accounting activities, including month-end close to maintain organized and accurate financial records
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of all financial information and adhere to organizational policies
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and best practices

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial procedures, and compliance standards
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and formula creation
  • Strong analytical abilities with exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 + years' experience in general ledger management, financial statement preparation, journal entries, accruals, and QuickBooks Pro
