Job Description

We are seeking an Accountant to support transactional accounting activities for field offices across the country. This role is part of a collaborative accounting team based in our Milwaukee home office and plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial operations for assigned offices nationwide. The Accountant will handle day-to-day accounting transactions, contribute to month-end close activities, and maintain strong working relationships with field office partners. This position requires a strong foundation in accounting principles, comfort working in a dynamic environment, and a professional communication style. Training for this role typically lasts 2+ months, and there may be opportunities for longer-term or employee placement on the team.

Job Responsibility

  • Process accounting transactions, including journal entries (debits/credits)
  • Work within the JD Edwards (JDE) accounting system
  • Process vouchers and commissions
  • Complete monthly period-close reconciliations
  • Support payroll and 1099 processing
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new contractors
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with assigned field offices
  • Participate in office-specific accounting projects
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with field office stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, including journal entries
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment
  • Technology proficiency, including: Excel (accurate worksheet maintenance and data manipulation), Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proper grammar

Nice to have

  • Experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP systems
  • Experience with commission processing
  • Prior transactional accounting or field office support experience
