Microsoft Elevate Japan’s mission is to empower K-12 education institutions with AI-driven solutions, secure modern learning environments, and improve educational outcomes. The ATS acts as the technical counterpart to the Account Executive (AE), leading technical strategy, architecture, and solution validation for Boards of Education and municipalities. The role focuses on driving secure, compliant, and sustainable adoption of Microsoft 365 for Education and Copilot, exclusively for the K-12 segment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Technical Account Strategy & Architecture: Define and drive customer technology roadmaps to achieve educational outcomes using Microsoft 365 for Education, Intune, Entra, Defender, Purview, Azure Data & AI, and Copilot
  • Security Compliance by Design: Lead Zero Trust designs and data protection mapping, ensuring alignment with Japanese public sector guidance for secure learning environments
  • Solution Validation & Modernization: Orchestrate pilots, proof-of-concept projects, performance/security testing, migration plans, and readiness for scale (devices, identities, content safety)
  • Copilot Readiness: Assess data foundations, M365 configuration, and safety guardrails to enable Copilot for Education adoption for teachers and students
  • Endpoint & Identity Management: Integrate device management (Windows, Chromebook), identity governance (Entra ID, conditional access), and school network requirements
  • Executive Technical Communication: Present architectural options and risk/benefit analyses to senior decision-makers in Boards of Education and prefectural procurement committees

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field AND 4+ years of experience working in technical presales or solution architecture for public sector or education
  • OR equivalent experience
  • Strong communication skills in Japanese with ability to engage executive stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of Japan’s K-12 market structure (~1,800 Boards of Education) and procurement cycles, including prefectural joint procurement

Nice to have:

  • 6+ years in technical presales or solution architecture for public sector or education
  • Expertise in Microsoft 365 for Education, Intune, Entra, Defender, Purview, Copilot for Education, and Azure Data & AI
