Job Description:

Strategic professional role in the Accounting Policy Group at Citi, focused on researching technical accounting matters for internal and external clients under US GAAP and IFRS, ensuring conformity with accounting principles and policies.

Job Responsibility:

Ensure Citi's business activities are in conformity with GAAP and IFRS
Review and approve accounting treatment for complex transactions
Establish accounting policies
Prepare detailed documentation to support accounting conclusions
Lead implementation efforts for new accounting standards
Prepare and deliver presentations on new/changing accounting requirements
Review and approve new products and structured transactions
Interact with accounting standard setters, banking regulators, and industry committees
Maintain relationships with auditors and external advisors
Prepare and present to Senior Management impacts of accounting standards and complex transactions

Requirements:

Senior to mid level years of experience
Big 4 accounting firm financial services and/or national technical office experience or accounting policy or other technical accounting role at a financial institution
Practical knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, specifically in regards to financial instrument accounting
Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
Excellent research, analytical, organisation, multi-tasking and drafting skills
Fast thinker/quick learner
Ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment to meet deadlines
Bachelors/University degree
CPA/CA or equivalent certification required
