We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Account Manager to join the busy sales team. This is a hybrid role combining account management with active business development. You’ll be responsible for nurturing and growing an established customer portfolio while identifying and converting new business opportunities across the region. This role suits someone who understands the steel or industrial materials sector, thrives in a fast-paced trade environment, and genuinely enjoys building long-term relationships with clients across construction, mining, engineering, and fabrication.
Job Responsibility
Manage and grow existing client accounts across construction, mining, engineering, and fabrication sectors
Build strong customer relationships and provide responsive service and support
Prepare quotes, follow-up inquiries and coordinate deliveries with internal teams
Identify and secure new business opportunities across the local and regional market
Develop sales pipelines through proactive calls, site visits, and networking activities
Monitor market trends and collaborate with the Branch Manager to achieve growth targets
Requirements
Previous Account Management or BDM experience
Exposure to steel, industrial, or trade sectors
A natural relationship builder, confident, personable, and genuine in your approach
Results-driven with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Organised and self-motivated, with the ability to manage a territory autonomously
Proficient with CRM or ERP systems (experience with Pronto is advantageous)
Current driver’s licence
