We are looking for an Account Manager to join a team in Charlotte, North Carolina in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position supports client-facing retirement plan administration activities and is ideal for someone who can combine relationship management with strong operational accuracy. The role will work closely with employer-sponsored plan activity, participant transactions, and payroll-related contribution processes while delivering responsive service to business clients and stakeholders.
Job Responsibility:
Manage business relationships by serving as a primary point of contact for account-related questions, service needs, and issue resolution
Support administration of employer-sponsored retirement plans, including participant transaction handling and withdrawal-related activities in accordance with plan rules and regulatory guidelines
Review and process payroll contribution files, ensuring deductions are accurately applied and invested within established timelines
Maintain precise account records, documentation, and reporting tied to defined contribution plans and tax-related activities
Respond to inbound inquiries from clients and internal partners with clear communication and timely follow-through
Use spreadsheets and Excel-based tools, including macros when needed, to organize data, track activity, and improve processing accuracy
Partner with administrative and service teams to resolve discrepancies, prevent errors, and uphold a high standard of account support
Assist with ongoing account servicing needs across retirement plan operations, including recordkeeping and contribution-related processing tasks
Requirements:
Experience in account management, inside sales, or business-to-business client support
Working knowledge of 401(k), RRSP, or other defined contribution plan administration
Familiarity with participant withdrawals, contribution processing, and payroll deduction workflows
Ability to build strong client relationships and manage inbound requests in a service-driven environment
Proficiency with Excel and spreadsheet-based reporting, including comfort working with detailed data
Understanding of recordkeeping, tax reporting elements, and documentation requirements related to retirement plans
Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced administrative setting
