The Account Manager is responsible for honing their skills in leading strategic and creative PR programs across account teams. The Account Manager should demonstrate exceptional client relations skills and proficiency for managing internal teams.
Job Responsibility
Support overall strategy development and day-to-day direction of client teams
Ensure monthly and quarterly plans are aligned with the client's business goals
Stay up to date on client-specific media and industry developments to deliver informed, thoughtful recommendations
Ensure timely delivery of client deliverables
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, fostering a strong, long-term partnership
Lead client calls and support strategy sessions
Anticipate client needs and respond to client requests in a thoughtful, timely manner
Support crisis management and advise on potential courses of action, providing support to the senior account lead
Lead regular brainstorms and support the development of proactive, data-driven media strategies
Monitor for newsjacking opportunities and lead rapid-response initiatives
Conduct regular media outreach on behalf of clients, demonstrating mastery across a full range of high-impact outlets
Coordinate and monitor interviews as appropriate
Finalize speaking abstracts and award nominations, and provide thoughtful feedback for junior teammates
Coach and develop teams and individuals, empowering teams to achieve their full potential in a positive and supportive environment
Directly manage 1–2 Bospartans — deliver regular, actionable feedback and support performance reviews
Flag individual/team issues promptly and work with senior leadership and/or HR as appropriate to develop a solution
Support new business proposals, including presentation development and delivery
Build external network by attending events, participating in professional organizations, etc.
Oversee the development of monthly/quarterly reports
Maintain accurate reporting in Harvest
Requirements
7+ years of experience in public relations, including 3+ years of agency experience
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field
Sharp business and PR acumen to quickly determine short- and long-term priorities for self and junior team members
Experience in B2B and/or B2C technology industries
Excellent communication and client relations skills (oral and written)
Strategic thinker with the initiative to lead programs from start to finish
Thrives in a fast-paced environment and juggles multiple assignments and changing priorities
Meticulous attention to detail
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Positive, energizing manager and mentor who inspires teams to excel
Bachelor’s Degree
